Just found this it totally works, so i thought you all may want this code also. I was starting to delete friends who do twitter posts as they are annoying, but this removes the posts! Me!
I made an offer on a unit in North Perth today and it was accepted.
It is just a one bedroom place but it is quite spacious and bright with a nice courtyard out the back. This place was on the market a couple of months ago for $280,000, but i snagged it today for $255,000. Right in the middle of my target price range, so I am pretty stoked about it.
So pretty soon I can say goodbye to the crappy long commute to work in the morning because of crappy traffic, as I'll be walkin' to work!
Now just to get my bank loan finalised, and then I can look forward to a lifetime of slavery to the banks! yeah!!!

All of the usual websites I enjoy (read: waste time on) are being boring today and not updating.
 In other news, I am scared shitless about the fact that there is even a chance that John McCain could get elected in the USA. The world needs a change of policy from the USA so that things can start restabilising and he will not do that.
But at least the current polls put him at a very slim chance of winning (www.fivethirtyeight.com has him at only a 6.5% chance) which reduces my worry somewhat, but I will not rest easy until after it has been decided.
Come on USA! vote for the right person! |

| I'm back |

I got back from my three week initial Air Force training in Townsville (QLD) on sunday.
It was a very worthwhile course, and I learned a lot. But i am really tired as the last few days of the course involved very little sleep as we were out on an excercise.
I have so much to do now I am back including doing my Tax Return, finalising my home loan application, finding a house to buy, my regular work (busy!), and catching up with my friends whom I havent seen for ages.
I will update in another day or two with more details about important happenings (including news regarding a special lady friend!!).
I hope all is well with everyone. |

Apparently in Western Australia there is a big shortage of blood stocks for emergancy transfusions because of Winter.
So yeaterday I headed down to the donation clinic to do my part (i am a regular donor) and there were DRAMAS!
i'll put the details behind a cut just in case you are squeamish about blood. I will be descriptive, so watch out.
So anyways, I am okay, and i am not scarred by the experience so I will go back and donate again in a month or so.

So i got a mix CD from ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) bryberry in this awesome music swap thing we did. The idea was to send the other person a mix CD with songs that we thought they didn't already have or heard of, so that we could all discover some new music. A super idea I reckon.
It arrived on friday, and i have finally found the time to write up my thoughts on it:

| Air Force + Other Stuff |

I have my first weekend as an Officer Cadet in 25SQN out at Pearce Air Base this weekend.
The saturday will be filled with inductions, paperwork, getting computer accounts sorted out, getting my uniform (lookout ladies!)... all the normal stuff that goes with any new job really.
It just so happens that this new job involves 20 million dollar fighter jets :-)
On sunday is the squadron training day. I am not sure what that will involve... probably running around and stuff. We will see. I am a little nervous about the sunday to see how my physical fitness compares to what is required.
I will be heading off to RAAF Base Townsville in July/August for 3 weeks to do my Phase-1 training course. This will teach me all the basic soldier skills (fitness, weapons operations, etc) and also a lot of varied lectures on history, orginasation etc. It should be really fun, i am loking forward to it heaps. It will be like an adventure holiday in a way, but i'm sure i will think otherwise when i am wet and cold in the field.
I had a very excellent weekend last week. I caught up with bryberry for Karaoke at the Northbridge Hotel on friday, where her and her most excellent friends were all singing up a storm. After karaoke we kicked on afterwards with take home wine and loud DVD's until the wee hours of the morning. They were a really friendly bunch and there were many many many highlights that evening for sure, heres hoping that another karoke session is on the cards in the near future!
Saturday was spent lazing away with several bottles champagne and all day breakfast at a cafe in northbridge with Bry, Claire, Liss and Damo. Again it was super fantastic fun, with so many silly conversations, not to mention we were were easily the most good looking bunch out in northbridge :-) And the champagne really took the edge off a little bit of a hangover.
After such a good weekend work has been a bit of a bore, but oh well. You cant have everything. |

I had a day off from work today because I am feeling pretty rotten with a cold. It feels like my head is full of cotton wool and I am all stuffy and sneezy and sore. I literally spent all day in bed :-(
But on the bright side i did a Google Image seaqrch for the word "stuffy" and found this cute lamb:

I had a pretty excellent long weekend, which is probably the cause of this cold I have. I went to see The Dirty Secrets at Amplifier on saturday night and they rocked.

In other news, the morgage guy from Aussie Home Loans last week said that I can easily bollow $300,000, so i am going to get pre-approved for that amount and start house shopping. Pretty exciting. |

So boofuls treated us to her opinions on her current top-5 songs, and I love making lists about things so here is the list of my top 5 songs from the last month, and also my top 5 songs of all time.
Working out the ones for this month is easy.... as I tend to go through phases where i listen to a band for a couple of weeks straight until i grow tired of them. So it is easy to keep track of what i've liked most this month:

Ok so an update:
1) i have been accepted into the defence force as an officer in the Air Force. It was a LONG aaplication process but i am finally in. So in two weeks i will start my reserves comittment. I am sure to look handsome in my Air Force uniform (look out ladies...)
2) I have a meeting with a person from Aussie home loans on tuesday evening about a morgage for buying a house. It doesnt feel right though... too responsible and grown up. i am not happy about it....
3) not much happening lately socially lately. i am going out a bit and having fun but i have not met anyone note-worthy in the last few weeks.
4) Work has been really busy lately, but not too much. The new graduate in my team admitted to me this evening about how he has been having trouble with depression and i was so glad he was able to be honest. I told him a lot about all the trouble i have had over the last couple of years and i think he felt a lot more comfrotable about it. we are going to have a relaxed talk on monday about what to do about it and how to work around it all.
i have reading about everyones lives on LJ.... i am sorry mine hasnt been so interesting lately. but i am ok and please stay awesome! |

So Jury duty finished early. Instead of a three day trial, it finished after two days because the guy changed his plea from non-guilty to guilty.
Which i think was a good idea to be honest, as it wasnt going well for him.
It was a Grievous Bodily Harm charge resulting from a consentual bar fight that one guy too just way too far. Basically the accused kicked the other guy while he was on the ground many many times with his steel capped boots resulting in a smashed kneecap. So it wasnt really nice, but also not really that disturbing to listen to either.
So we didnt have to deliberate in the end, but it was still interesting to see how it all worked.
In other news i am pretty busy at work lately, and while thinking about it at lunch today I realised that the projects I am managing by myself at the moment total over 2.5 million dollars worth of work. That is crazy! It is going well though, and I am not too rushed or stressed. But it it is pretty full on to consider how much money my work is trusting me to look after. |

I am on jury duty this week.
It is the first time I have been summoned for it, and I was selected yesterday for a three day trial.
It has been interesting so far, but pretty boring as there is a lot of waiting around.
The case is interesting, but I can't say too much about it until it is finished. But it isnt a yucky case (like murder or rape or something), so it isn't so bad to listen to it all. |

So i figure that it is not going to happen with Megan.
We caught up with a few other friends on sunday arvo at the pub, but nothing much happened there. We chatted and had fun but no more kisses or anything. Since then she has not been in contact at all, including a non-reply to a friendly hello sms i sent her yesterday.
I am a little bummed about it, but i was quite prepared for this possibility so i`m not too heart broken about it.
I actually think she does likes me, there is too much evidence for that not to be the case, but there is something else going on with her. I am not sure what though.
Regardless, i think that given the way she has acted last time we were seeing each other, and now this time, it would probably not be a very good relationship for me to be in. There would be way too much stress with me expecting her to pack it in at any moment. And i definately dont need that. |

so my last couple of posts i've mentioned this girl Megan who i like.
Well, we were emailing yesterday during work and we ended up arranging to catch up last night as neither of us had decent plans. We met at the Brisbane where they have this amateur stand up comedy show on fridays which i had heard about.
So we had a couple of drinks and some food and then into the show. And we had a really good time! the stand-up was actually really quality good despite being an amateur thing. And conversation was really easy and relaxed between Megan and I. During the show she was sitting really close up against me, and was being a bit flirty so I was pretty happy with how things were going.
At the end of the show it was like 11pm, so we needed to head off.
We chatted for about 10 mins at her car. You know what it is like when you are chatting with someone and you can both tell that you really like each other? it was like that. EVENTUALLY i got up the guts to "make the move" and we shared an absolutely great kiss.
We then said our goodnights and went home...
So, a pretty successful date i'd say!
but....
My biggest doubt amongst all this is whether she really liked me and was actually interested in going out, or whether she was just wanting to to be friends. well, i guess we have solved that issue but i am still nervous about it.
There is a few reasons for this:
1) i am always nervous when i start seeing someone. i get unsure of what exactly is happening, and there are niggly doubts about how keen they are etc. etc.
2) I really like this girl. In fact, i've like her more than anyone else ive met before. So i guess i am more nervous about how things go with her because i care more about it.
3) This is simmilar to when we went out for a couple of weeks in december 2006. We kissed, and went out briefly and then she got cold feet or something and broke it off. so i guess i am a bit dubious about whether this will stick this time....
I am trying to take things as they come and see how it goes. play it as cool as i can.
We are meeting up at the OBH as originally planned tomorrow afternoon so we will see how it goes.... |

i need your opinions:
if a girl smses a guy out of the blue at about 10:30pm at night just to say goodnight, what does it mean? if anything? is this a normal thing for a girl to do?
I am tring not to read too much into things unnecessarily, but i have my suspicions. so i'd appreciate you guys opinions (particularly since most of my commenters lately are ladies). |
